I 'm a landscape architect working with the National Park Service this summer. I had the opportunity to travel throughout Southeast Alaska for 3.5 weeks in July 2017 beginning in Sitka, Alaska. My main task was to complete a cultural landscape inventory and a conservation plan for a former 1802/04 massacre/battlefield site involving the Tlingits, Russians and Unagan Aleuts. This was not the conventional road trip as I spent a significant amount of time travelling throughout the Southeast by ferry on the Alaska Marine Highway System.
