A braham Lincoln has been a hero of mine for my entire life, in part because I am a lawyer. We have also immersed our daughter as much as we can into the history of American civil rights. Visiting President Lincoln's personal home in Springfield, where his body briefly lay in state after he was murdered by a white supremacist, was a very moving experience for us as a family. I wonder how much sooner our Indian ancestors would have been allowed to immigrate to the US had a president like Lincoln lived longer than he did.
