I had graduated from Iowa State in May 2013. During Summer 2013, I was working as a camp counselor and slowly packing up my stuff. At the time, I thought this would be my last chance to explore the Midwest, so I regularly visited Midwestern attractions and cities on the weekends. My friend, Alex, took me to his family in Council Bluffs, Iowa and then to the Omaha Zoo in neighboring Nebraska. Shortly after, Alex and I started dating, and I moved out of the Midwest. Depending on whose story you hear, our first date could have been to the Omaha Zoo. Over the past four years, I have visited the Council Bluffs/Omaha metro area several times and have visited the Omaha Zoo a couple more times.
